Slate Restaurant is the only Relais & Chateaux restaurant in Maine. The renowned, gourmet restaurant serves a tasty farm-to-table menu inspired by seasonally available ingredients from our garden or one of our many local farms. Our handsome wood-paneled cocktail lounge offers fine wines, custom seasonal cocktails and mocktails, and small bites.

Located at the Blair Hill Inn and overlooking Maine’s largest glacier lake, Slate Restaurant sits commandingly atop a 20′ high, 900′ long fieldstone wall. Its hillside perch provides one of the most beautiful, expansive lake views in the world. Once a gentleman’s estate and breeding farm built in 1891, it is now a finely restored boutique hotel & restaurant with exquisite décor and exceptional service.

The summer menu planning begins each spring when seeds are planted in our greenhouse and gardens. When cuisine is driven by what’s ripe from the gardens or from local farms and is artfully homemade, each course becomes pure pleasure. Our menu offers guests the freshest ingredients prepared with unique flavor combinations that are sure to delight.
